Description

You pretty much know what this is, or have heard of the genius behind the product.

Considered one his early "breakout" pieces that helped vault him to where he is today.

You see these come up from time to time, but you will rarely see one like this. One that comes with a 100% recent service history, from someone who's been doing it for 45 plus years now.

This is what I did to this legendary piece from The Man, Nelson Pass.

Complete strip down of chassis to all pieces.

All new outputs (24) in both channels using genuine Motorola devices, and both channels repaired where required.

Both output boards completely checked over, resoldered and recapped. Input coupling upgraded to high quality film type.

1 K ohm 4 Watt resistors in Casscode bias divider have been changed.

There were problems in the LED meter circuit. Some of the LEDs were burnt out, one of the LED driver chips was bad. I started changing LEDs and couldn't match the brightness so I changed all 32 of them.

Dc offset is near perfect. And bias was set using rail current and heatsink temperature via thermal gun, methods. And a brand new spanky AC cord to finish it all off. Unit has been run close to 24 hours Post repair.

Clips at 130w/ch into 8 ohms, both channels driven.

The exterior I would say is about a 7 out of 10. It has had a couple bumps here and there.

But functionally, you won't find one like it very often. The work alone would have been over $800.00 easily.

Think about it, it really is a no brainer:

- American made, by a legend

- REAL Class A, 100w/ch

- Timeless piece

- Quality parts

- Sonic bliss

I mean really, what does 2 grand get you in this day of "mortgage" priced systems? I've seen speakers for 2k that would almost fit in my hand.

Shipping is going to be between $125 (AB, SK, MB) to an upper end of $150 for the rest. Insurance isn't cheap!
