Perreaux 9000B Pro/home power amp. 500w/ch into 8 ohms.
Don't be fooled by it's brute power (because yes, it could charge your EV in 5 minutes flat), it's also a delicate, aromatic, entrancing flower with a 20lb sledge for a stamen.
10 high current mosfets per channel, arc welder power supply, yet amazingly simple circuitry.
Peter Perreaux used (essentially) the same circuit topology for his home a pro line, so you'll get that same audiophile sound from this amp.
I set the bias and verified the DC offset, replaced the AC plug and the speaker posts. One the rear handles is broken as shown in photo. It uses balanced inputs, so I will include an XLR to RCA adaptor cable. Also, this unit uses a fan, pretty quiet, but I should mention it just the same.
I did a full frequency sweep; flat from 20hz to 20khz and the "finally" clips out at a measly 544 watts per channel into 8 ohms, both channels driven (with my shop lights dimming). Bring a friend...it's heavy!
